Your Sunroom: 3 Seasons or 4?

When planning your sunroom, first consider how you want to use your room. That will help you make the decision between a 3-season or 4-season addition. The benefit of a 4-season room is having extra space all year round to entertain or for your family to spread out. But if you just want a special place to enjoy the warmer months, then a 3-season sunroom provides what you need.

One of the biggest differences is a 3-season room doesn’t need insulation; a 4-season room needs to retain heat in the winter so that it can be used all year. A heating and cooling unit can be added to a 3-season sunroom to take the edge off of extreme temperatures, but it’s more efficient for temperature control year-round in the insulated 4-season room.

The type of glass differs as well, with single pane windows typically being installed in a 3-season sunroom and a 4-season room having more energy efficient windows throughout.

Even though there are construction differences, the decision to have a 3-season sunroom or a 4-season sunroom ultimately comes down to how you want to use your extra space.

We love our new OKNA 800 series windows! We did a total house replacement and couldn't be happier. Lonnie was great to work with during the pre-installation period, and Jeff, Jared and Ken did an awesome job installing the windows, and keeping all the work areas clean and organized. I would highly recommend these windows and using Choice Home Remodeling!
Choice replaced all the windows in my house and I could not be happier. The workers showed up both days on the time they said they were going to. When they finished the job, you could not even tell they were there. Very happy with the windows. You can tell they really care.
Excellent company, outstanding service. We had new windows installed last year and recently 2 storm doors. All are great products and we are very satisfied. The customer service we received was always prompt and reliable. Thank you Choice!
Great work!! Friendly, professional and honest. I would recommend and will use again.
Response from the owner:Thank you Paul! These March winds should be no match for your new storm door. We look forward to working with you in the future.
